The lovely 2D art style of this game enhances the casual atmosphere as people traverse the world to discover the secret past of not only Lonesome but Wes the coyote. Players can try their hand at a variety of types of puzzles, chat with villagers, fish and garden, trade and explore, and more. Lonesome Village is meant to be a peaceful game, so it doesn’t feature any combat.

5 Gather Lots Of Resources

Along with the Magic Glass, players will need different items to progress through the plot. Some items, like a fish, are needed if players want to complete a task inside the tower. Other resources are needed to customize their house, make money, trade with villagers, and for other secondary assignments. The easiest way to stock up on items is to gather resources often at the beginning.

A variety of objects are available at certain times or in specific places. Berries can be picked from bushes, carrots can be dug up from holes, and fish can be caught in lakes. Some objects can even drop multiple resources. Trees can be shaken more than once to drop multiple items per tree, and those items can vary from branches to golden apples. When a player’s backpack is full, they can leave items at their place in the village.

4 Garden And Fish

By exploring the surrounding area, fishing at lakes, and gardening at their house, players can unlock new parts of the map and help villagers thrive. There are tons of different resources in the game, so having items to trade for others can increase the variety of a player’s inventory.

There are plants to cultivate and collect and decorations that can be bought for a player’s house. Along with trading items, players should gather plants and fish to sell if they want to make money for desired items. Some things players get may also be needed for quests, such as pink fish that can only be caught at night.

3 Don’t Stress Over Puzzles

Even though one of the main focuses of the game is on puzzles, they shouldn’t be seen as intimidating. If a player has difficulty solving one level, it’s no issue because the next type of puzzle will be different. This adds variety to the game but also makes the challenges more accessible to a wide variety of people.

As the levels get higher in the tower, the puzzle dungeons get trickier and players must be clever if they want to advance. But some levels don’t require a puzzle and instead need an item collected from town to save the animal friends. A huge part of the game is puzzles, but a large part as well is interacting with the townsfolk and exploring the town and surrounding areas.

2 Go Out At Night

Unlike games like Stardew Valley, where players will fall asleep if they stay out too late, Lonesome Village actually encourages players to explore once the sun sets. Some characters can only be found at night and that means that a large part of the game is meant to be played during that time. Even in the dark, the game provides enough lighting for people to find their way around the map.

The clock gives a good amount of time for players to adventure at night because multiple specific items can be found then also. For example, players can only catch blue fish during the day and pink fish at night, so if a villager wants pink fish then they’ll have to wait until night to find them.

1 Talk With Villagers Daily

Once villagers are rescued from the tower, they will return to their homes in Lonesome. Newly rescued characters will often have quests or dialog for the player. Communicating with the villagers will unlock activities to participate in, such as trading, fetch quests, and other secondary assignments.

By interacting with NPCs, players build their relationships with villagers and gain the hearts that are needed to unlock higher levels in the tower. Doing this and other things such as exploring, fishing, and gardening can unlock new areas on the map as well. Best of all, talking to villagers will get even more fun as the game progresses.

Lonesome Village is in development with a TBA release date. It will be available on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Linux, Microsoft Windows, and Macintosh operating systems.

There are many players who will be able to immediately take to the game, but there are some that may not be so lucky. There are some beginner tips to know before diving into the world of Lonesome Village that will make a world of difference for players eager to start their journey.

7 Making The Most Of The Time That’s Given

A lot of what a player has to deal with involves fetch quests and the day/night cycle in the game Lonesome Village. As such, it would be a good idea for a player to do everything that they need to do in as few batches as possible.

A player should take the moment to do as many quests as they can before they approach the tower. A player will need 27 hearts to reach the top of the tower, after all, and it would really help a player to have as many hearts as they can get before scaling up the tower.

6 Earn Gold Quickly

There are quite a few ways for a player to gather up Gold - the in-game currency - while playing through the game Lonesome Village. However, there is actually a way that many players have agreed is the “best” way to gather up gold quickly.

Essentially, a player will have to gather up as many rocks with gemstones in them as they can. More often than not, a player will end up receiving iron, which will still be a decent profit, but a player may end up getting gems such as rubies or diamonds, which will leave them rich.

5 There Are Many Flower Colors, Save Them All

While going through the game Lonesome Village, a player may wonder why they should not just simply sell all of the flowers that they grow over time. The answer is that the villagers will often request the same thing, and this includes flowers.

For example, a villager may ask for five pink flowers, while another may ask for a stack of yellow flowers. It would be best for a player to save up all of the flowers that they grow.

4 Start Gathering Resources

Seeing as villagers will be constantly asking for all sorts of different items as fetch quests, a player may find themselves running ragged trying to gather everything up per request. However, there is a good tactic for this situation.

Essentially, a player should simply just start to gather up as many resources as they can, as soon as possible. Having a surplus of materials that a player can use at any moment will ensure that quests are done much more quickly.

3 Keep Fishing

Yes, there is a fishing mini-game in the game Lonesome Village. This is, of course, very exciting for people who like the fishing mini-games, but it is also beneficial for players as well.

On top of being able to sell the fish a player gathers up for some nice profits, a player will also be able to trade their fish in for rare and other valuable items. As such, a player should remember to grab their fishing pole, head down to the nearest lake, and keep at it.

2 Puzzles Are Not Really That Much Of A Problem

A player may think that they are going to struggle a lot when it comes to the puzzles - of course, this is due to the fact that it is one of the main parts of the game. However, puzzles are actually not that hard to deal with.

While a player may not have the best time on one particular puzzle, it is worth noting that they will not have that issue for long. This is because, regardless of what the first puzzle was, the next puzzle will be much different, and will give another challenge to the player.

1 Explore During Sunset

While there are a lot of games with a day-night cycle that discourages the player from leaving the house and wandering out during the night, that is not the case in the game Lonesome Village. In fact, the game actually encourages the player to wander during the night.

There are a lot of characters that only go out during nighttime, which means more quests for the player, along with being able to find certain types of items only at night. It is best for a player to explore both during the day and during the night.

Lonesome Village is available on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Linux, Microsoft Windows, Xbox Series X/S, and Mac operating systems.
