Behold Battlefield 3 Achievements

The single player element of Battlefield 3 will be getting as much focus as it has in the Bad Company series, with the exception that the story will have a much more serious tone this time around. Achievements will actually take some mindfulness to accomplish, rather than the simple “completed single player mission” achievements we’re used to seeing in most first person shooters. The multiplayer achievements sound like they’ll be rewarded to players who try out all the classes and vehicles. Nothing too difficult, but nothing easy, either.

Cooperative play isn’t left out, with some achievements linked to that mode as well. DICE wants players to try out all aspects of Battlefield 3 and with the way the game is being built, why wouldn’t you give each mode a try? The mission design for co-op play is very deliberate to ensure players feel like they’re playing very specific roles during each level. Unfortunately, split-screen play will be sorely lacking.

Hmm, some secret achievements. Those might end up being “complete single player mission” types, after all. That remains to be seen until we all get to play through Battlefield 3. Overall, a fun sounding achievement list that doesn’t put the player too far out of his way to accomplish them.
