RELATED: Genshin Impact: Beidou Hangout Guide

Having been featured on several banners and in Paimon’s Bargains, many people have probably pulled this awesome lady. For those looking to help Beidou reach her maximum potential, here’s a list of everything you’ll need to ascend her, level her up, and upgrade her talents.

Leveling Materials

It takes over 8 million EXP for a Genshin Impact character to reach level 90. Here’s how much is needed at each level, as well as the Mora cost:

To hit that maximum level, any combination of leveling materials can be used. However, this is a pretty efficient combo with little waste:

Beidou Ascension Items

To ascend Beidou, players need some items that probably come as no surprise. She’s an Electro character, so she of course needs Vajrada Amethyst gems. She’ll also need some common enemy drops from Treasure Hoarders, Lightning Prisms from the Electro Hypostasis, and Noctilucous Jade, a specialty of Liyue where Beidou is from. Of course, some Mora is also necessary.

Gemstones - Where to Find Vajrada Amethyst

Vajrada Amethyst can be obtained by finishing daily commissions, by converting other element’s gemstones, and from special events. A good portion of it will come from defeating bosses and finishing Trounce challenges, though. These bosses will grant Vajrada Amethyst:

Electro Hypostasis Primo Geovishap Thunder Manifestation Coral Defenders Azhdaha Stormterror/Dvalin Childe/Tartaglia The Shogun

Enemy Drop - Where to Find Treasure Hoarder Insignias

It isn’t too hard to find the various levels of Treasure Hoarder Insignias, since these enemies can be found almost anywhere. However, they do appear in significant numbers around Dragonspine and old ruins in Liyue.

These enemies will drop higher levels of Insignias when they themselves are at higher levels:

Any level: Treasure Hoarder Insignias Level 40 and up: Silver Raven Insignias Level 60 and up: Golden Raven Insignias

Boss Drop - How to Get Lightning Prisms

To help Beidou ascend, she’s going to need quite a few Lightning Prisms. These are obtained by defeating the Electro Hypostasis and then paying 40 Original Resin for its rewards, one of which is a couple of Lightning Prisms. They’ll drop them at levels 30 and higher.

The Electro Hypostasis can be found in Mondstadt, more specifically at Cape Oath in the far southeast of the region. It can only be damaged when its core is exposed, and it is immune to Electro attacks.

Local Specialty - Where to Find Noctilucous Jade

Each character needs a local specialty from one of the continent’s regions, and Beidou’s is Noctilucous Jade. This rare mineral can be found in caves all over Liyue. A lot of it can be found in Mingyun Village, near the Guili Plains.

A few can also be purchased from Shitou, the operator of the Jade Mystery in Liyue Harbor. He sells five of them for 1,000 Mora each, and restocks every three days.

Beidou Talent Materials

Beidou has the vibe of a seafaring pirate, so it’s kind of fitting that she uses the Gold series of talent books for upgrading her talents. Besides those, she also requires some more Treasure Hoarder Insignias, Mora, one of the drops from defeating Stormterror’s Trounce domain, and a few Crowns of Insight. All the required items are outlined in this table, including the totals tripled, since Beidou has three upgradeable talents.

Talent Books - Gold Series

The Gold series of talent books are used by Beidou, Xinyan, Xingqiu, Zhongli, the Traveler, and Yanfei. They’re obtained by defeating the Taishan Mansion domain on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Trounce Materials and Crowns of Insight

Crowns of Insight are rare materials that are used to bring a talent from level 9 to level 10. They can be earned as a reward from special events or for making offerings to the two sacred trees of Teyvat: the Sacred Sakura in Inazuma and the Frostbearing Tree on Dragonspine.

The Trounce mat that Beidou uses for her talents is Dvalin’s Sigh. This can be collected by defeating, unsurprisingly, Dvalin, also known as Stormterror. If the player has other Dvalin drops and some Dream Solvent, they can convert those into Dvalin’s Sigh at a crafting bench.

Genshin Impact is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices, with a Nintendo Switch version in development.
