The 35-year-old tight end this week agreed to a free-agent deal with the Ravens after three seasons with the Saints, and Watson on Wednesday wrote his goodbye to the city of New Orleans.

It’s as good as, if not better than you can imagine.

Watson was drafted by the Patriots in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft. He spent six seasons in New England before moving on to Cleveland, where he played three seasons before signing with New Orleans in 2013.

Our family goal is the same as the mission of our foundation, One More. And that is to ultimately spread the love and hope of Christ to everyone we meet. I’m so grateful for what God did these last few years and am full of anticipation about what He will do in the next as we journey to a new city, Baltimore, MD.

God bless New Orleans. We love you. Who Dat!

While the veteran in January expressed his desire to stay with the Saints, he understood the team had tough personnel decisions to make. He was just thankful for his health.

Watson last year published his first book, “Under Our Skin,” which boldly addresses issues of race and religion in America. A year before that, his thoughts in the wake of the shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., published in a Facebook post, went viral.
