Watson first gained attention following the police killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo. He wrote a lengthy post on Facebook which received over 862,000 likes. He then decided to write a book, which was published in November and titled, “Under Our Skin: Getting Real About Race – And Getting Free From the Fears and Frustrations That Divide Us.”

He used Facebook as an outlet again this month when Alton Sterling and Philando Castile were shot and killed by police in a 24-hour span. His willingness to discuss these topics landed him an appearance on Fox News where he shared more of his thoughts.
